DJI, the world’s leader in civilian drones and aerial imaging technology, has won a prestigious Emmy[emoji768] Award for Technology and Engineering from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. DJI’s camera drone technology was recognized for excellence in engineering creativity, specifically for creating “Low Latency Remote Controlled Airborne Video Platforms for Television.”

DJI’s technology has changed the look of modern television by giving directors and cinematographers an affordable, accessible platform to create low-altitude aerial images that make impossible shots come to life. DJI’s camera drones have been used on the sets of Emmy Award-nominated television productions including: The Amazing Race, American Ninja Warrior, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, and many more.

“Since the introduction of the Phantom quadcopter in 2013 and most recently with the Inspire 2, DJI’s drones have consistently been at the forefront of camera drone technology by creating safe, reliable, high-quality aerial imaging systems for creative professionals around the world,” said Stuart Cram, Marketing Manager at DJI. “We are incredibly honored that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has chosen to recognize the contribution DJI’s technology has made to the industry.”

DJI’s Inspire 2 camera drone is a ready-to-fly system that has quickly become a critical tool for cinematographers around the world. It features a 360-degree rotating gimbal and camera capable of recording 5.2K RAW high-resolution images. Its Lightbridge HD video transmission system delivers a live stream of the drone’s camera as well as an FPV view to the remote pilot and camera operator, allowing them to collaborate to create complex, dramatic aerial shots. A powerful propulsion system allows the drone to go from 0 to 50 MPH in just 5 seconds with a top speed of 58 MPH, delivering the speed and agility required to capture the action in nearly every situation.

DJI will be honored at the 69th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards that will take place in partnership with the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in Las Vegas, NV.
