I use adobe premiere pro cc for video and adobe lightroom for pictures

I have Mac and iMovie is good enough for me. It looks more like "Final Cut Pro"

Do they all require a subscription?

Imovie is quick on ios.
Windows movie maker is good and basic.
Premiere elements is better with a slight lerning curve.

I use all three.
