I just spent the last hour scouring YouTube, write ups, reviews, and I haven't come across a single resource that points out what this bar is and what it's for. Please, for my sanity, tell me what this is and what it's for. Thank you!

It is a visual indication of the gimbal tilt.

Suggest you download the manual for your Phantom. It has all information needed concerning the DJI Phantom, including DJI GoApp information.

Also, check out Msingers's site Phantomhelp.com. Select the Phantom you have from the top of the page for everything Phantom. He is also a vital part of this forum and posts frequently. Fly Safe ! [emoji3]

Another one reading reviews and watching vids on you tube but doesnt think a manual would be a handy thing to have.....
I blame dji, if they couldnt print out a manual they could have at least included it in digital format, dvd, usb stick or even put it on the micro sc card

Yeah, I honestly didn't even know they had created a manual since there are so many detailed videos explaining the app and usage. I've got it now though. Thanks everybody.

I'd like to point out that I just read through all of the DJI Go section of the manual (Version 1.2, 2016.08) and there is no mention of this gimbal tilt indicator. Everything around it is documented...but that one function seems to have been left out. Thank you again for explaining what it is.
