To my knowledge, that is a strict NFZ. Fat Albert is going to shed a few pounds when FAA comes knocking. Is there a legal process for being able to fly in such a way as to get these shots?
I thought you could fly over national parks as long as you didn’t take off or land in it?
Yes, that one. Go ahead Fat Albert, show Ansia that you were more than 400’ in your flight record.FAA will restrict drones from flying around the Statue of Liberty
On October 5th, hobbyists will no longer be able to fly their drones around ten US landmarks. The Department of the Interior and the FAA have restricted UAV flights within 400 feet of the monuments, which include the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore and the Hoover Dam.www.engadget.com
I don't work for the FAA.Yes, that one. Go ahead Fat Albert, show Ansia that you were more than 400’ in your flight record.

Your the one that made the assumption that he broke the law and the FAA would come knocking. Why would you say that? Is it clear to you with out a doubt he was closer than 400 Ft?I don't work for the FAA.
From the look from the photo taken from the Statue of Liberty, he doesn't look to be more than 200' away from it. I could be wrong, but it's what it appears to be so. If he can prove that he wasn't and his flight was legal, then great and he should continue providing us with such great footage. I tried to verify the distance the drone had from the photo's EXIF data, but it appears he post-processed the photo, before posting.Your the one that made the assumption that he broke the law and the FAA would come knocking. Great pics FA.
Yes. I often zoom in to make my photos look better and show detail. From the look from the photo taken from the Statue of Liberty, he doesn't look to be more than 200' away from it. Well that is a valid argument I never considered. Upon checking all the photos, it appears that he did zoomed in.Yes. I often zoom in to make my photos look better and show detail.
