I tried this out yesterday....out of an abundance of curiosity ..and a LOT of unhindered space. Since there were many more questions in my mind than certain answers...it was very conservative. Also, since my incremental mod-ing has not gotten to FPV yet, and because the road had a lot of elevation change and I was keeping the bird close...and we went slowly.
Using a stock transmitter, there was no problem at all with control through the front window. I lifted off from the road and then we moved along following the bird. I had the window open in case I needed to stick the Tx out and was ready to jump out if necessary to regain control. Neither of those things happened. Overall my report is that, within the approx. 100' range which we did not push, there was virtually no detectable issue at all.
The video is boring in fact...except for the wide open desert spaces of Wheatlandia.
