Decided to make a few modifications to the controller.
1) I decided to add dual USB. One to charge my phone and the other to charge the repeater.
2) Since I would need extra power to do that, I decided to make it 12v.
Used a 12v USB car adapter, took it apart, cut a hole in the case and hot glued it in.
Used a step down voltage regulator to step down the 12v to 7v for the controller (the AA batteries I was using fed 7.08v to the controller so I decided to go with 7v.)
