Has anyone on the forum used a portable solar panel and adapted to a car charger or similar to recharge P3P batteries?

There are several ways to do this. If you insist on using a solar panel then you should also use a 20Ahr 12 volt SLA battery as well. Solar panel to charge the battery - Battery to power the Phantom car charger.
Car charger's output would (or should) be regulated to 17.5v or whatever it is. (Can't remember)
Forget it though, if you're thinking along the lines of a little portable panel that can only supply a few hunded milliamps of current.
