I might be repeating a feature that I guess you all know, but I discover that when I touch and hold the screen, a blue circle comes visible, and you can move the gimbal up and down.

I didn't know either.. It looks like a smoother and more convenient way to move the gimbal. I'll have to give that a try next time I fly. Thanks for the tip :)

i still prefer the dial, it feels easier to use than the touchscreen on my phone
thanks for posting it though! it might be useful someday
 
I'd forgotten about it, but it might come in handy to supplement the gimbal elevation dial. Unfortunately, the blue circle won't also rotate the aircraft when you drag it left and right, which is where it would really come in handy for a very slow yaw, without ripping frames.
