Hi All,

I received a warning on P4P indicating that I needed to recalibrate the VPS. Firmware on aircraft is V01.03.0418. DJI Assistant 2 version 1.1.0. I have tried on three different computers with various errors:
  • Windows 10. Never gets past tutorial step 3. Get repeated messages to reboot the aircraft.
  • OSX Sierra/2016 MBP with USB C. Can get to the calibration step but I never get the pattern on the display.
  • OSX Sierra/2014 MacBoor Air with USB A. Never gets past tutorial step 3.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi A,

Thanks for writing. However, no solutions in that thread for me. Just the same issues I am having. BTW. My sensor covers have been removed.

Dji assistant does the full calibration but you can also do a quick calibration using dji Go 4 app. That might eliminate your issue.

Full calibration does require good surfaces and good monitor.

Hi All,

I was able to calibrate the VPS with DJI Assistant 1.1.0 on my 2016 MacBookPro15. I did the following:
  • Start with a fully charged battery.
  • Restore factory defaults.
VPS calibration proceeded normally.

Calibration was performed on the monitor of the MacBook Pro. However, if I attempted to perform the calibration on secondary monitor, the DJI calibration routine hung.

Greetings,
Today for the first time my bird says I need to calibrate vision sensors. Everything worked fine yesterday and now this. Did you ever find out why yours suddenly required it?
Any tips before I start?
Cheers

Hi Traveler,

I have no idea why mine suddenly requested the need to calibrate the VPS.

I am working with a Mac laptop so some of this may or not apply to you:

1) Start with a fully charged battery.
2) Restore to factory conditions.
3) Use your primary monitor. Others are reporting the need to do this as well.

From my research others were reporting the following.

1) Make sure you have removed the shipping covers from the sensors.
2) If you are using Windows 10 there may be driver issues related to DJI Assistant that prevent calibration.

Finally, not certain if this is necessary, But, if you are restoring to factory conditions I recalibrated the IMU, gimbal, and compass.

Hope this helps. Let me know how you make out.

Hi Traveler,

Hi Donald,
Thanks for the info, good tips.

I didn't do any restore to factory settings, so I'm not sure if that will impact anything.

Yes, windows 10, but no issue with software.

It was a little odd that it would move the blue box before I was center over it. It was more like, it would **** places just as soon as I hit more than half of the box. Moved around like a square circle, if that makes any sense.

It boots up okay now, no errors.

Sound about right?

Thanks for your help!

Donald,
Taking your advice, I did a reset and calibrated again.

Looks good so far, IMU calibration in the morning, then gimbal and compass.

Thanks
