Buttons on map?

So when I open up the map there are some buttons that I am not sure what they do--the one that looks like a radar screen- what does it do
The one on the left in the middle with the wavey line and the finger- it allows me to write on the map but what is it for?

The draw one is handy for making a route you would like to follow or mark hazards to avoid , etc
