i messed up some numbers on the dial in video settings and now the camera is very dark.. how do i fix this. any help would be appreciated.

If your in auto mode check your exposure compensation...

If you're in auto settings but it's still dark click down on the right scroll wheel until EV is highlighted at the top of the screen. It's small so look carefully. Scroll the wheel so it shows 0.

It sounds like you're in manual mode just change either and or the iso and shutter speed until you can get a picture with brightness. best done in a well-lit room or outside in daylight
