Battery Storage

The DJI battery uses resistive discharge process ... that is why its slow and also that heat is generated.

If you want to use a different method then various 3rd party items are available such as Telsin adaptor which takes the discharge energy and provides USB power to charge mobile / power an LED lamp ... etc.

As regards LiPo itself ... there are n differences between the DJI 'OEM' cells and any other LiPo High Voltage cells. DJI in fact do not manufacture any batterys - they are contracted items from at least 3 different factories.

I don't fly in the winter either... too cold for the fingers...
I'm a little late to the party... but 10% for storage is too low. The batteries will be chemically active and could puff up.
You can cycle the batteries over time to bring them up to a good state.
Let the batteries discharge by them selves then fully charge them and let them self discharge again... do this a number of times and finally let them rest in the
auto discharged state for the winter. You can always do a cycle once in a while through the winter.
