Anybody getting an error on a p3pro that says battery overheating during discharge? Got this at 20% was running it pretty hard, just wondering if this is normal.
I have a P4 and I have noticed a over discharge message once also running it hard, it may have happened more than once but only saw it once as I did not hear any notification sound. I let go of the throttle and the message went away. I had checked the flight log in air data and I don't remember the value but the amp draw was really high.
Another thing is as the battery voltage drops as we deplete it the amps will rise to give us the same power output at the motors, amps time volts is watts and the motors want watts.
Exactly as discharge continues and VOLTS reduce - AMPS go up .... this creates heat ...
Internal Resistance is the driver that really pumps up temperature ... iR increases as batterys age.
There are actually two results of battery aging and power demand :
Shortening flight time .... you land and when battery has rested - you find it has recovered some voltage ... DO NOT FLY again on this ... charge before flying.
Higher temperature of battery after use.
