My P3A is acting funny.
I put in a fully charged battery, turned off and the bird does the startup beeps,
the gimble dances around and the rear lights start flashing.
It has never done this before.
The last flight was perfect.
Then I check if the motors will start. They won't.
So I turn the battery on and try the motors again.
The motors start up.
I don't dare fly and turn the battery off.
Rear lights are still blinking.
I decide to drain the battery down and recharge them, to see if it will make a difference.
I set the Phantom in front of a large fan, (to keep it cool), and turn on the Phantom.
I run the battery down to about 5%.
I tried to recharge the battery, but it won't take a charge.

Anyone see this happen before?
I don't have extra batteries to do a check.
And the nearest battery is 600 miles away.

Thanks!

My P3S did the same thing. After three days, she start and fly.
Maybe hibernating or resting. DJI is tired.

I wonder if I discharged the battery to far?
Perhaps that is why it won't charge???

I contacted Amazon about the problems, to see if a replacment or refund was possible.
They forward my email to the 3rd party seller, Beach Camera.

Beach Camera seems easy to deal with. They asked me to call DJI and get a "defective case number", and once they have that, they will issue a refund.
Nice.

Ok, I called DJI as requested, but got nowhere.
I explained the problem and they said the issue was unusual

Anyway, they suggested I might buy a new battery.
I mentioned that it could be a battery problem or a Phanton problem.
Since they haven't heard of the problem before, a new battery might not solve the issue.
They said if the battery doesn't fix it, to send the ac to them.

I then explained that a used P3A used is only worth $500.
If I buy a $100 battery, then pay shipping both ways, $224, plus any labor, the drone really isn't worth fixing.

I am not ranting here,
My question is
What is the best way to get a "defective case number" from DJI?

very funny, shipping here and there like nobody business. IT IS MONEY AND A LOT OF MONEY.
This is a rich man toy. There is no authorised centre near my home or your home. Only some service centres in some places and if you are lucky you live near them So you can buy but not for people who have no service centres near them.
