Are there any risks of overheating the motors if I use 3 batteries one after another? Just want to make sure I take the proper precautions since my extra batteries should be here within the next week.

No. they are air cooled. They should be just fine going and going.

I've flown my P2V almost continually in Florida in Summer for hours and didn't notice anything unusual with the Phantom's motors or electronics.

The early batteries didn't like it, though. They got puffy. But, the newer batteries haven't shown any sign of trouble.
