Advice for new Android device

Hi everybody.
I need an advice.
I only have iOS devices and I made the switchig from CE to FCC using an android of friends and patched DJI GO.

Now to keep the FCC mode I'm using Litchi with iPhone and iPad but I just do not like it.

I would like to go back to using DJI GO, but to avoid switching back to CE mode I will have to use the modified version available only for Android.

I would like to buy in Android device that is fine but not necessarily the last model, what models recommended?
Don’t want to spend more for the device than the drone...

A friend will give me his old Samsung Galaxy S3, I’ll try with that and if will fork fine i’ll have it for free [emoji51]

Update:

I managed to install the 3.1.8 version of DJI GO on iPhone and iPad, so I do not need to switch to Android anymore.
As soon as possible I will do some final flight test.
