active track and tap fly problem - Phantom 4

I am having a problem activating these two features. But I have been able to do the Point of Interest mode and Waypoint mode.
When I try to Tap Fly I select a spot and get a green go Button and then I tap on it. The phantom (4) just stays there and the screen immediately says Tapfly Flight Ended. When I try do perform active track it won't select anything I try, it won't even give me a green box when I try to create a selection box.
I am in P mode and I have multiple modes enabled.

Are you high enough? I'm pretty sure there's a minimum altitude for those features to work .

30-40 feet and I think that is high enough. the demos i have seen don't seem to start very high

Same problems with my Phantom 4. Also, active trak just hovers. The camera follows but the drone will NOT move after the subject.
