So I've been going round n round and finally pulled the trigger on a new PV2+, first time flyer. I don't want to get carried away before learning to fly (as if I haven't already!) but think that a camera & gimbal guard seem to be absolute necessary additions. I am looking at the killer and then the carbon fiber plate. My unit comes with 3 batteries so good there just wondering what everyones recommendations as to monitor and carbon fiber props are. It seems most of the carbon fiber props are 9" and not the newer 9.4"? Also would appreciate input on the taller and wider landing gear, yes or no? Any other absolute necessary accessories please advise. I have been reading all the posts on these questions thought I would start my own thread to be able to better keep up with it.

Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

Also in central MS if anyone can recommend a group in this general area.

Excellent choice! You can buy those together here:

I don't recommend you use anything but OEM DJI props. These carbon fiber reinforced props are okay to use:

Thanks for the links msinger, looks like the camera guard may not be an option with the taller/wider landing gear. Does look like the spider leg gear link you provided would however do both?

If you're planning on using the stock camera & gimbal, then there really is no need to install taller and/or wider landing gear. Just don't land in tall grass :)

Unfortunately landing in tall grass is going to be regular unless I bring some kind of landing mat.. on the other hand in my area it is all wide open spaces with lots of farm land, there are dirt roads however

Maybe look into something like this then. Or, you can hand catch.

As mentioned above. No carbon fiber props and do not run guards.

The carbon fiber plate on bottom will not save you always. I lost my last camera with the carbon fiber guard. Its the "snap" from impact that usually gets you .

I like the aluminum device that captures the pivot point best. Often if you can keep the camera from sliding off the shaft you will save the ribbon cable.

In my opinion tracking device is a must. Marco Polo is my favorite. As a matter of fact just today I lost my quad 1.2 miles from home. Found it with the Marco Polo totally undamaged in the woods.

Just be careful with CF props as they are seriously vicious. The plastic ones do enough damage but CF props will cut through anything. If there's any risk of flesh contact you should use guards, and be careful when hand catching! (Hand catching is the way to go though!)
