$1800 loss in 5 seconds!Losing GPS and drifting 50mph crash

I'm gonna speculate that this incident was due to a leftBack propulsion issue; either a broken prop or a motor failure. Too bad the .DAT can't be retrieved. The onset started with a pitch up and roll left which would be consistent with loss of leftBack propulsion. The AC stated CCW rotations which is consistent with either a leftBack or rightFront propulsion loss.

The loss of satellites, gpsHealth was probably caused by the tumbling.

Thanks for the taking time to look at the flight log data I appreciate it. Does my case look like something DJI will accept responsibility for and send us a new one? Im not good yet at analzing the data, all I know is the **** thing dropped out of the sky for seeminglly no reason!

IMHO they should treat it as a warranty claim. But, they don't ask me. DJI is a big company and sometimes you don't get a knowledgeable person on the first contact. If you encounter this I would suggest trying a different channel. I.e. use chat if you had tried email, or use email if you didn't get anywhere with a phone conversation. Good luck.

Interesting graphs! Could it be that a prop came off?
Yes, I guess I forgot to mention that a prop coming off is also a possibility. But, doesn't the P4P have locking hubs? I don't actually know since I only have a P3 and Mavic.

Trust me, there's always a reason why it happened... A prop lost, compass errors, internal board issue, even striking a bird or a bird striking your drone... There are always a reason why a perfectly working drone dropped from the sky.

what program is that?

only works on Litchi CSV files though, right?
Negatory. From

CsvView Introduction
CsvView can accept these log file types

  • .txt file produced by the DJI Go App. TXTlogToCSVtool is used to convert the .txt to a .csv. Note: The Mac version of CsvView can not accept .txt files.
  • .DAT from the Phantom 3, Inspire 1, Mavic Pro, and Phantom 4, Phantom 4 Pro, Inspire 2, Matrice M100, M600
  • Litchi tablet app
  • Autologic tablet app
  • FPV tablet app

Guys...call your local State Farm office and ask for an Articles & Effects policy on your drones! I have 3 Drones insured for $1500 each and it only cost me $62 per year! If they say they don't do that...tell them yes you do now get me someone who knows how to do it!

If you have any problems let me know and I'll send you my agent's info. He's in Ga but he is also an avid drone pilot as well and will get it done for you!

Sorry -- Bummer. I look at this hobby like going to the casino, have fun while you can, but sooner or later the house (or trees) will win. Luckily no one was hurt. I hope DJI makes good for you. Keep hounding them -- you may spend hours (no joking) on the phone, but keep pushing -- I heard that helps. Good luck.

When I recovered my drone from the lake all 4 props and battery were still attached. 2 of the props broken on impact but still attached at motor base. Can't believe the thing didn't shatter falling 200 feet. From that high water is damm near concrete.
