Yep you hit the nail on the head. I don't have any experience with what is essentially spoofing a server, but it may turn out to be a very simple exchange like you described
This sounds like an idea...probably made slightly complicated if the communication between the app and the server happens via HTTPS but even then it'd be possible, just a bit more tricky.
I don't really want to update so I can't play around with this idea. But in theory, I don't see why not?
I agree - what DJI has done is essentially "online DRM". Another company will come along and make a restriction-less product, or someone will jailbreak the existing products on the market
Making a "drone tracking network" would cost millions and would be next to useless given that people can just construct their own and omit any kind of tracker.
It may be possible that it will be enforced at the manufacturer level - in a similar way to how airsoft guns are sold in the UK (must...
A 1K+ aircraft and you put unbranded/cheap props on it? That's like replacing your Ferrari's wheels with some rubber castors.
I'm sorry to hear about your crash, but really it's your own fault for trusting anyone other than DJI with a component as crucial as the props.
Can I ask, what on earth...
I'm currently in Switzerland, I just arrived a few days ago from the UK. I brought my P3 along in the hopes of getting some good footage. The P3 hasn't let me down. Even at 3000m on the side of a mountain, it flew without skipping a beat - I have only done one compass calibration since I got...
I don't think this was the first ever conviction for a drone pilot in the UK! There was one a while back where the man flew over Alton Towers.
Anyway, good that he was fined, I think that was justified in this case. Hopefully this puts people off similar dangerous stunts.
Hello!
So I arrived in Switzerland, and decided to take my P3 for a spin (after reading local laws of course)
I took off on damp grass a few times, but it flew perfectly. After I'd had my fun, I put it back in my hardshell case and took it back to the hotel.
Today I'm heading to the...
Thanks! Did you live in Cumbria?
The popping is mostly over-zealous color correction. I did use a PhantomFilter ND8/ND16 in some of the brighter shots though
