Well, I finally got it to work. It required updating the NFZ list on the drone, updating the app and then using a phone (instead on my non-cellular iPad) as the controller. Then when I tried to take off I got the standard "are you sure?" radio boxes to check and it let me self unlock...
Great suggestion and I did try that. The problem is when it asks you to select a pin for the place you want to unlock. The pin it creates for the address I enter isn't selectable. One time I saw pins just for airports (which doesn't help me) and last time I didn't see any other pins at all...
Thanks for the suggestion. It's definitely not in a red area. I did get the box asking if I wanted to self unlock but when I put in my phone number it just gave me an error. Maybe I screwed up the number input somehow. If I could get this to work it would be the best solution for my...
So, I just started a video project that will (hopefully) include documenting some construction over the next 18 months using my P4P. I would only need 100' of max altitude to do this. The site is just at the end/edge of an airport authorization zone. The controller gives me the standard...
I intercut footage from our P4P and our Sony F55 all the time and get paid well for it. "Not near the quality for professional video" is complete nonsense. And once and for all, the MAVIC 2 Pro's camera is not better than the camera on the P4P for video. Also remember the OP describes...
Sorry to hear about your damage. I think most of us have been there before (especially in high wind). Personally I wouldn't fly with those unless I absolutely had to. If a client was paying me and push came to shove I would risk it but only if the reward outweighed the potential financial...
Your shutter speed should be 1/100th of a second (and not 100) but honestly I wouldn't recommend shooting higher than 30fps at 4K. There are several discussions you can find on this forum about how DJI does weird stuff to achieve HFRs with the limited bitrate available and it just doesn't look...
Glad you figured it out. What a hassle. Personally, I'm not a fan of the self unlocking UI. I typically use it when I'm in the sun and trying to see those tiny dots to select is a huge pain. I would prefer huge boxes to select so we could actually do it in real world situations.
I had a similar issue last year. The thing that fixed it for me was (believe it or not) updating to the latest firmware and latest version of the no fly list. Then the self unlocking dialogue worked as expected. Maybe that could help your situation as well.
The real answer is that it's worth what someone will pay for it. If I was interested I would check eBay (or similar) and see what similar condition items are going for. I'm still making money with mine so it's a non issue for me.
If you are only running the DJI Go4 app then either is fine. If you want other apps running then perhaps the P4P controller with 3rd party device is a better option for you. I use an Apple device myself so can only comment about them. The iPad will work but make sure its a recent one. Older...
