As a new pilot I have noticed the P4 descend, over land, as I increase the horizontal speed of the aircraft. I have no plans to fly low over long distances (anytime soon) nonetheless being aware of the aircrafts decent may very well save me from heart ache.

Once RTH is engaged on my P4 can I use the camera controls? If so will such use cancel the RTH? I have about 1.5 hrs of flight time and have gotten comfortable engaging RTH. I haven't needed it from a control standpoint, however, when that day comes I want to make sure I'm comfortable...

A few days ago I decided not to fly when surface winds were at 18 MPH with gusts around 30. After reading these stories I have learned the lesson without living it. I have less than 2 hrs flight time and improving cautiously every day.

Brand new Phantom 4. I have 38 minutes of flight time just enough to get it in the air and know I know almost nothing. I have yet to exceed 150 feet in altitude and 1000 feet in horizontal separation. I have turned the beginner mode off and find myself very comfortable outside of beginner...

So from these responses I see no reason, as a hobbyist, to fly an expensive drone in questionable conditions. I choose to stay out of the wind and enjoy my drone on another day.

How much wind can a P4 take and still be reasonably controlled? I chose not to fly today due to repeated 18MPH GUSTS.

Thought I'd update. The initial Battery was bad out of the box. Bought a new Battery, charged in 90 minutes, all is well.

Per DJI 5 hrs initial charge only. Around 90 minutes after that. I am repeating what they told me as I have no experience as of yet.
