On my Traxxas ERevo, for 3S cells, they recommend a low voltage warning of 3.4v. Why is 3.7v recommended on the Phantom?

Well, if the weather is bad and you need to fly indoors, these smaller ones are nice for that. Also, if you want to learn flips and rolls, you save your $60 back pretty fast.

Right... warm up and GPS lock doesn't use up much battery live, compared to getting the motors spinning and flying. I don't see any benefit in doing the battery swap.

If each motor uses an 18A ESC, then your peak discharge rate would be 4x18A=72A. So a 2200mah battery rated 20C (30C burst) would not quite meet spec (only 44A continuous, 66A burst) Not sure why the Phantom ships with a 20C battery... Are they assuming that each motor will average < 10A? Or...
