Yes they welcome you to fly your own drone or you can fly theirs. For my test I used their drone as it was no difference to mine. Most of the people on the course were flying their drones. The site they use is a nice place and you fly up on the hill behind the campus. Do watch the Ops Manual...

You also need to make sure that you are not in restricted airspace. There are loads of zones around the UK often from 0-2000 ft where you need ATC permission to fly. look at No Fly Drones | No Fly Zones for Drones in the UK | Fly Safe
