Whats the approximate range of most stock antennas that come on transmitters and receivers?

Just got an fpv setup, trying to figure out if it is worth upgrading with mushroom antennas

Try it with the supplied but most buy some sort of clover leaf/mushroom or better antennas. Thats what I use but I am not a range junkie so I couldn't tell you how far it will go. Range is directly related to your wallet, if you've got the money you can go a long ways.

Well do you think a 20 buck pair of 5.8 ghz mushrrom antennas will get video range up to a kilometer?

3000' or so... possibly. All depends on the components you use.

Thats all i really need. A non-upgraded tx for a phantom 2 only has a range of 1kilometer anyways right?
