What is This Restricted Area - UK Regulations

I just noticed Heysham has a restricted area, but I'm not sure what this is for/have not see them before. Anyone know why it is there?

I just noticed Heysham has a restricted area, but I'm not sure what this is for/have not see them before. Anyone know why it is there?

It is there because of a Helicopter landing pad, you will find them enveloping any airfield, both Civ and Mil. The restricted area's look larger than they should be at airfields because they included the airfields circuit, and often the localizer. Military training areas also have restricted airspace, as do other 'sensitive' sites.
