Waypoints???

Ok, so I'm trying to set up a waypoint mission and from what I can tell you actually have to fly the mission first, record it, and then it will replay the path but is there not a way that you can select waypoints on the map and then have it fly the mission without having to fly the route first? It would be way better if I could just drop pins on the map and then the p4 fly to those waypoints. Thanks for any help.

The most popular and robust way to fly waypoint missions the way you describe is by using the Litchi App. The new DJI GS Pro App for Ipad also allows the user to click on the map to generate the waypoints with preprogrammed actions at each waypoint. There are other Apps as well but Litchi is the most popular.

Yes! Go to Litchi. From there you can plan and create missions at your computer and save them to the Mission Hub and recall them on any of your wireless devices. You can then alter or update as needed and fly your mission from there. You'll love Litchi!!! AND, it does not crash like DJI GO does.

I believe that DJI made this change due to liability. DJI did not want to supply software that itself would allow the actual flight. That is, then DJI could be held liable for that fight. In requiring someone to fly it first, they can then state that the person flew the flight on their own initially so the software did not allow anything in addition to what was done be begin with.

Can i preprogramme the missions by post the coordinates number for waypoints in litchi or it just accept dropping on the map

XY coordinates aren't enough, you'll want to use Litchi mission hub on a PC or Mac. It will provide you with Z data for ground elevations and craft elevation deltas relative to your other waypoints. It's very nice.
