What editor do you use to cut the sound?
I am currently using Corel Video Studio Pro 6.
While I can add sound files, I can find no way to cut the original sound.

right click on each video clip and the popup menu has a "mute" option.

Thanks Tried that, but it mutes ALL sound. Not just the original voice track.

I use Premier Elements. In that software you can right click on a video clip and unlink the audio & video. Once you do that you can right click on the audio and un-enable it. This removes the original sound but does not effect any additonal music clips you have added. Perhaps your software has a similar option?

I'm not on my PC but I believe you select the clip you want to mute and after it's highlighted select options tab on the right. Once that opens you'll see a speaker icon. click that. This mutes all audio from the clip.
