Just had a message on my remote about updating firmware on my remote. Can this be done without a computer? What happens if you don't update?

Yes it can I did mine ..go into the dji app click the little hat and find update controller tutorial
Sorry that was kind of short. Open app top right corner click the little hat then select the drone u have from the drop down menu in the middle , then after that on the bottom there are videos slide over til u see the one on how to update controller hope that helps
