Ticket Issued in ADK Park Wilderness for Motorized Vehicle Use

Drone operation is clearly forbidden under designated wilderness regulations so a ticket, per se, is reasonable, but using the motorized equipment clause seems a bit odd. I would have expected the ticket to be based on violation of the ban on aircraft operations (landing and takeoff).

As much as we are trying to get our sUASs recognized as real aircraft, I could see a lawyer arguing that the are not in order to try beating the ticket. Less room for legal wrangling with the ticket as issued.

Maybe so. Possibly they have a standing instruction to that effect. It's also possible that the LE Officer issuing the ticket simply didn't realize that UAVs are categorized as aircraft.
