Texas Drone Law: $10,000.00 Fines????!

And with a stroke of a pen, a Pig Farming lobby shoving money into a politicians pocket has single-handedly shut down the use of hobby aircraft with cameras in the entire state of Texas. It's not the FAA we should be worried about, it's those damned pig farmers.

Texas, sucks to be you.

No, nobody shut down the use of hobby aircraft with cameras in Texas.
Either read the actual Bill (links have been posted) or read the posts I made trying to explain what is in the Bill.

I live in Texas and I'll damned and double down on "from my cold hands". With that said, I do chose to avoid flying over private property and do not purposely fly on or over private property and take images or video. As mentioned, this is all about the livestock lobby, that has very deep pockets. And I'd like so see someone report me and prove I took purposeful images of their private property. What are the laws about hand held cameras and private property?

"(15) from a height no more than eight feet above ground
level in a public place, if the image was captured without using any
electronic, mechanical, or other means to amplify the image beyond
normal human perception;"

Is this suppose to limit use in public parks?

I found this exception kind of amusing:
" (14) of real property or a person on real property that
is within 25 miles of the United States border;"

So, I guess if you want to go looking for illegal immigrants happy hunting! :-/

I stumbled on this and though I would share.
