Removing dji 4 camera and flight condition

Hello folk!- I'm wondering if I can remove dji phantom 4 cameras and still able to use the autonomous mode in flights? Dose the camera remove effect on the drone flight? Also, which better way to remove the camera?

I crashed my Phantom 4, broke the gimbal off along with one of the landing struts. I hot glued the strut back on just to see if it would fly and it did! All functions except the camera of course, worked fine! There are YouTube videos showing how to remove/replace the gimbal. Fairly simply, I think 5 screws and unplug two cables is all.
