Congrats on purchasing the standard. I have had one for three years and no problems with it yet other than getting some warnings of magnetic interference that I have learned to ignore now that I have realized that they are popping up for no reason. And yes you do need an SD card to record your photos and videos on. Also you should read your owners manual a few times to get to know the drone and how it operates. When I purchased mine I never took it for a flight for about a week or more until I read and re read the manual many times and watched many YouTube videos on how to operate it. You dont want to just pull it out and start flying without getting yourself acquainted with it a bit first. If I had I’m positive I would have destroyed it on first flight. Cheers and have fun.
