Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Wrexham, Wales.

28th May '16. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a navigable aqueduct that carries the Llangollen Canal over the valley of the River Dee in Wrexham County Borough in north east Wales. I was saddened to hear that just a few days after I'd filmed this a young boy fell to his death from the aqueduct.

Great work Dave, I went to this place to fly once but it was too windy that day. After watching this I must return to fly it. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers Glyn. A little way off is another aqueduct and rail viaduct together. Wouldn't it be something to get a barge and steam train in the same shot!

Now that would be a shot but I think you might have a better chance of winning the lottery.

How about a shot coming out of the Chirk tunnel and across the aqueduct. I don't think I would be brave enough to do that one.

The story goes that they built the railway higher than the aqueduct so the railway passengers could look down on the bargee's.

I believe Pete they used the narrow boats to transport the vegetables to the NW military hospitals for our Indian comrades convalescing during WW11. One such narrow boat was packed with onions, I believe that's where the name Onion Bargee came from [emoji57]
