Have you plugged in to the assistant software on your PC or laptop to see if the RC is working when you work the sticks in the RC screen. If no you may have to rebinding the RC to the Phantom.
If the drone fires up and doesn't detect a tx, there's a remote possibility that it could go into RTH mode, and you don't want an uncontrolled drone doing it's own thing in an enclosed space.

I being a noob and an official ******* had this happen.
Phantom in office, on floor, idling, showing the wife and I turned the controller off - device took off per design to last "home" location which was 30' outside - through my knee. Scar will be there to remind me:
1- never put props on when device is running in house
2- NEVER turn of RC. Never in house! Only as last chance.
