Ok,
So whilst I'm waiting on my replacement, Birdside, 2.4Ghz Patch antennas to turn up, and to save frying my gimbal tx with no antenna load, I found in my box of tricks, a pair of those 2.4Ghz 'whisker' antennas they include as spares with the Frsky 8XR receiver. (Taranis).
They of course have that u.fl connector and I was anxious anyway to make sure the two 'male' u.fl on the gimbal itself were not damaged. Luckily, they weren't and the Frsky antennas snapped right on.
I just have them both 'dangling' from the gimbal. I might try putting them in plastic drinking straws to get them at right angles to each other.
I can now go anywhere inside my house & I'm getting excellent video, full signal and no dropout.
Will test them outside tomorrow.
