P3P Range Issues

Recently got my P3P and have about a dozen flights on it. I'm flying in a suburban area, but open fields/parks.

I seem to have aircraft disconnect/image transmission issues at about 1600ft no matter where I am.

Is this typical? Seems very short...

Seems on the short side, but many things can interfere with your signal. One common oversight is antenna orientation. Are yours correctly oriented when flying?
