I know - this is probably rather difficult to give a solid answer on, but I'm curious to see what else people have to say on the matter. I'm really curious what the lifespan could be (flight hours) on an aircraft such as the P3 that is treated well and kept clean, without having to routinely replace parts (motor bearings, etc).

I know electronics just work. Until they don't anymore. But based off of experience of flight hours on past phantoms and general knowledge of components of these, how long could you truly expect a phantom to work before some component(s) fails?

Fire away.

Oh and please cite your source or knowledge on be matter if you would please!

Brushless motors are very low maintenance. They go for a very long time without problem.
Crashing or flying in a salty atmosphere would take their toll but otherwise a Phantom 3 should be very durable.
