I read that in the Herald and thought
a. The guy from Otago Uni clearly hasn't seen footage from a phantom fish eye lens.or he wouldn't describe it as intrusive
b. The guy in Queenstown was a tourist and a clearly a dickhead
c. The guy in Featherston should have just asked. Most people I have asked have been fascinated by the idea of filming their event from a "drone".
I was invited to fil the opening of a cycle track at a local primary school. I took the Phantom along and showed the board and also gave them a safety plan. Not flying directly over people, cordoned off take off and landing zone. Panic landing area etc.
If I want to fly over someones farm I will ask them.
If want to fly over my local suburb or a sub division I will just ignore the new law as it is silly
