Our American friends might not speak Yorkshire, so an explanation. A Tad, means a larl bit (Cumbrian) both mean the same,"A little bit", but it is nuanced. When you say "A Tad ", meaning a little, you are deliberately understating, and you really mean, " A Tad windy== Blowing an Effing Gale".
#But sometimes " A Tad " really does mean a little bit, as in engineering," Just a tad more" means to tighten,or move something a small amount, yes it is a bit difficult but we all understand.
Quite easy to understand really. However some Yorkshire expressions do not always equal the opposite, as in " I will get the beers in", does not equate to I will pay for the next round, merely an offer to transport the beer from the bar to the table.
