Moving the compass vertically

I have a P2 V2 with the compass embedded in the leg.

I am fed up with my GoPro excavating the ground everytime it initialises, so am considering fitting these spacers:

This will obviously move the compass down 1.0cm

Obviously a compass recalibration will be in order, but has anyone tried this mod with this particular variant? Should I expect any problems?

Hughie,

If you maintain it's orientation (x, y, z) moving it lower will not reduce it's effectiveness. It may actually help as you are moving it away from the fuse. of the quad.
It's analogous to the comp/GPS 'puck' sitting on a stalk above the fuse. seen on some a/c.
