Hey guys,
I am setting my Phantom 2/Zenmuse up for FPV and I have anguished for hours of online research to decide exactly what to do! There are so many options out there, it is extremely confusing for the average "new guy" like myself, who has been completely ovecome with the "drone bug" and has no close friends that understand! (And no hobby shops for miles that even know what the hell I am talking about when I say things like FPV, IOSD, DJI, AVL5.8 etc etc....!!)
Here are my options as I have researched-
1- Kumba Cam- A complete plug and play option for $349. Is there blue screen? What is the downside to this option? I dont need extreme long distances right now, as I am only filming up to 1/4 mile.

2- Storm all in one FPV Combo- This appears to be another great plug and play (Deluxe) kit for $329.000
What is the downside to this kit? I have heard some bad publicity about Helipal and their shipping/lack of customer service from China? Thoughts?

4- 3- DJI 5.8 Kit- This kit sells for $209 without a reciever. Why not complete kit? From my research, the Black Pearl (199.00)is the way to go? What exactly is the HDMI ports used for? It has a built in reciever and battery, which I want for sure. So the total for this option is $409. I guess you just toss the DJI reciever in the garbage since it is already built into the Black Pearl? Do I spend the extra money to keep everything DJI for possible future and ons and compatibility?
5- Immersion RC 5.8 Transmitter ($69)
https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/sto ... 00mw_.html
With the black pearl $199
Total cost is $268
There would obviously be a little soldering involved here. Would this set up be compatible with DJI (Such as mini iosd?)
What are the upsides/downsides of this option?
So, needless to say, I have a lot of questions. If you have anything to add from your first person experiences, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Wes
