So, out here its still in the 40s. Took the P4P out at the yacht club. Had 2 batteries and an 8 minute flight and a 9 minute flight each before hitting low battery warning. Also had one compass error and landed and restarted, no problem.

So my question is why im a lowlife (battery wise)

Twice over winter i put them in the bird and let them run out to zero then recharged them. I just did the little button check and both light up at 100% life overall. You know the way to see the quality of your batteries?

Any idea, besides it being cold in the 40s (maybe 30s in wind)? Ive flown longer then 9 minutes in below freezing temps. looking to visit a ghost town next weekend and dont want to be limited to 17 minutes of flying lol

P.s. started with 2 fully charged batteries. 15 satellites, max height of perhaps 150 feet, and only took a few pics, no warnings for anything whatsoever except once i had poor reception unti i walked out back from the boats.

Charged them 3 or 4 days ago. Let them sit over winter but after a few months i would run them down and give them a full charge.

Over time you know a cell phone will say 100% but only last half as long etc... so i wonder if i should have kept them running more over the winter.

I assume P4's have auto discharge in the app, what is yours set at?
Also I'm pretty sure many will say, you shouldn't run them down as far it seems your are stating.

I found a recent thread, but he stated he hadn't charged them in 3 weeks.

I top of my batteries by having them on the charger, then power up the battery like it is in the Phantom.

I think the default auto discharge setting is 3 days. Prbly was in discharge state (Which is a very bad thing to take off in)..

Perhaps that was it ^ auto discharge. I did not know that even existed. I'll have to look up that and my setting.

At the moment i have no internet other than my phone :/ to upload anything.

I think the default on my batteries was 10 days, I changed it to 5.

Thats why its ESSENTIAL to READ the manual from front to back

Well no problem yesterday. Two batteries and got my usual flight times. Perhaps I will also sect 5 days, that's about the longest I go between flights on average.

If you turn the battery on as if it is in the phantom, then turn it off, that will reset the timer.

I set my batteries to discharge after 2 days.................i don't like leaving lipos with a full charge for long times

Would there be anything bad about leaving them at like 15% or whatever percentage they are at when you went flying, then charge them days or weeks later? I always charge mine right after.
