I see a bunch of people talk about airplane mode.....but I never do this. Is it that big of deal?

No, I leave mine connected at all times, although you can get random phone calls or messages at times if that is a problem for you. Quite humorous when you get a call when coming in to land...

Why do get keep getting signal warnings when flying? I always leave my iPhone 7 connected to the world. Seems like everywhere I fly I get the warning not to fly long distances. I have the bird less then 100' from me since I am a noob and don't want to lose her. I've read several articles about software issues. Is it worth spending the money for aftermarket apps? I've read people having trouble with those too..
