Its not every year that Lake Superior freezes up to allow Ice fishing. When it does.... they walk out and make a hole. I think its cool how the clouds look like they are trapped in the ice. Video from Duluth Minnesota.

OK, that makes sense, do they use icebreakers to clear the way and then count on warming temps to keep the ice broken and melting?

The Ice breaker is sitting in the harbor right now. Shipping season is closed right now. The wind causes wave action and breaks up the ice. For right now the coast guard will wait. The thicker stuff will have a lane cut through it in a week or two. I hope to be able to fly the drone on the ship doing its job.

I'd love to spend some time up your way -- Lake Superior is a monster! Getting some video of the icebreaker busting up the ice would be cool but I'd suggest not flying over it.

I agree, nothing worse than losing a drone to the coast guard. Id fly along side of it. BUt.... right in front watching it bust ice would be cool.
