Help on Updating Firmware please!

Hello All-

Try as I might, I cannot seem to update the FW on the P4. I've tried the DJI assistant and the Go App. I download the FW (in either DJIA or Go App) and then try to load it on the drone.

Each time the process starts, it comes back in a few minutes and says the upgrade failed, restart drone and try again. WTH am I doing wrong or do I have a bum drone???

Aside from firmware, all works well, flies like a gem, but if I can't upgrade the FW, then I better return it; I have until Thursday to return to Apple.

Anyone else having this problem? Solution?

Are you using the iPad to update it?

I couldnt get the DJI assist software to work in my windows laptop. Used the ipad air.

Yep, used the iPad Air 2 and a MacBook Air. I deleted the go app and reinstalled and tried again. I've watched the official tutorial and a couple of others and (I think) followed them. I must be missing something.

Update: just tried using iPhone 6 with OEM Lightning Cable- it worked!

Thanks everyone. Kinda bizarre that it took the phone and real lightning cable to do this dontcha think? The cable I used on previous attempts was a shorter one from Amazon which I've used since last June to fly the P3P and now the P4. Is this process that uptight?
