GPS Out of Service as of 07/15/2019

It has no effect on most DJI gear as most use USA based GPS and Russian GLONAS.

Galileo is not actually operational ... it is STILL in test phase ... and what has happened now is one of the ground stations that corrects / monitors the timing has failed .....
24 sats are in position - but 3 are still test-mode with 21 working - but in error due to this ground station fault.

People may be surprised to know that there are another two systems as well ... Indian (in development / testing) and Chinese (operational) ... but these are also NOT used by DJI.

I thought the satellites spin in the other direction opposed to the earth's rotation.

Edit: Nvm, Did a bit of research and they spin in the same direction.

There's not a single direction or type of [satellite] orbit.
It's a very complicated subject.

The same satellites aren't always there.
Over time you are seeing different satellites.
