Curious , I read about these random infractions where police contact operators and issue tickets etc, it seems that all are getting busted by the operators posting the video on you tube , facebook, etc...

Is there a way for anyone , FAA etc to identify you drone in flight if it has no visual homeport etc? does the drone give off a signal of identification to reveal serial number /registration ?

I'm curious about this as well. However, I think what you're trying to find out is how people are getting tracked down. It's the Internet. Finding someone on Facebook or YouTube and locating a residence is easy. Far too easy.

The only identifier is the registration number on the drone (US), just like manned aircraft. Main reason FAA implemented the registration.
