Controller issue right out of the box

Just got phantom 3 pro and the controller won't power up any ideas why? I have it on the charger now and can't tell if it is even taking the charge.

How did you attempt to turn it on? You should press the power, release it, and press and hold it.

And, when you plug it into the charger, do any of the LEDs light up on the front of the remote controller?

I am guessing it's dead. So plugged it in to charge but didn't see any blinking lights to let me know that it was accepting the charge. After further review of the plug I realized that it wasn't in all the way. Pushed it in a little harder and now it's taking the charge. Will try it again in the morning
