I Hand Catch when I need to. I also practice Hand Catch to 'keep hand in' ... I estimate maybe 1x in 100 flights ? That will increase once I get back to boating again and fly my P3P of it.
What I find difficult to understand is how people can ignore that incidents can happen and with 4 meat cleavers spinning there ... it could be extremely nasty result.
I have seen too many prop accidents over the years that I do not wish to see again. I have seen props slice into wood benches as well ... one in particular - slightly smaller than a DJI P3 prop at moderate RPM shed a blade and it buried itself half blade width into my hard bench edge requiring a knife to extract it.
